my reaction to zeitgeist

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009

In an effort to keep this post to a reasonable length I am going to focus on the first third of the movie which is titled “The Greatest Story Ever Told”. The title is intended in jest towards the Christian “story”. Below you will find a list of counter arguments and issues (Some my own, some repeated from the sermons I provided in the last post)that I have with what the narrator says or implies.

Again I will state the best rebuttal is found in the two sermons from the last post. Please click here if you would like to check them out. Here are the five points I would like to focus on.

Why focus on only Christianity?
This is by far the biggest one for me, hence I will make it first. The movie claims that religion is part of the systems of control that the secret group of elites use to control the masses. To put it simply if religion is a form of control for the masses why did the movie only attack Christianity? There are many religions out there. Some of the main ones are Islam, Hindu, Buddhism, Judaism, Scientology and Shinto to name a few. Lets not forget the approximately 16% of the world’s population that is non religious all-together. If the film was interested in being thorough it would have needed to spend a little portion of time to ruin the foundation of all those religions, but it didn’t. It is my opinion that the film only wanted to attack the one and only true religion. I have seen this documentary about 5 or 6 times now and I believe very strongly that the films motive is to mix truth with untruth in order to deceive millions.

Jesus is not a means of control
Either the film is lying or the writers did not do their homework. I’ll make a strong argument that it is the probably just the first of the two, but maybe both. If the writers knew anything about Jesus it would be blatantly obvious that Jesus is not a means of control but rather a means of freedom. As a quick snap shot of what Jesus promotes is loving your neighbour as yourself, helping those in need, not being slave to materialism, keeping desires for money and wealth at a distance, refuse violence and control your temper and serve God with every ounce of your being. The results of which would be a drastically changed world. If you understand one thing  understand this; the makers of the film have just thrown a bunch of rocks into your pond to muddy the waters and cloud your mind. The fact of the matter is that if right at this very second everyone in the world decided to stop what they were doing and live a life like Christ the world would be instantly transformed and all the power that “they” have worked to gain would be lost. That is why “they” work so hard to keep your attention away from this truth. The power “they” have is power we give away. It wouldn’t take a single gun or fist being raised to change the world, just a life like Christ has asked us to live, modeled after his example. That’s one reason what God is so awesome.

Dates of another god(s) as being the 25th of December
To me this is a ridiculous argument. Ancient Egypt didn’t have a calendar like we have today, therefore making that link is absolutely preposterous. I will admit that its a heavy argument in favor of what the film is passing off as truth but it simply is not. Here is a link to a brief history about the calendar. If the film was trying to make a link to the winter solstice then it missed with that as well as solstice dates occur on the 21 of December, sometimes on the 22nd. Lastly the most recent changes to the calendar happened in 1582 when Pope Gregory XIII declared the Gregorian calendar to be the new and recognized calendar. So to think through time that all these gods shared the same birth date as Christ is not a solid argument. Plus to be entirely transparent we don’t even know the exact date Christ was born, that is just the day it is recognized, or should I say commercialized.

There is a point in the year where the sun would not move for three days before rising again
I find this to be an interesting point. After some research I could not come up with anything to support this point. What I do know is that at the arctic poles they experience abnormal day and night times through out the year. That’s not to say what the film presents is untrue. but consider this; where in the world does that phenomenon occur and does it occur where the majority of people lived in the Egyptian times? Well Egypt isn’t very close to either pole so to me it stands to reason that this portion of the story is not accurate either.

Crown of thorns =  sun rays
To me that was a comment that is reaching. I think the writers just got greedy here and thought they were being clever. Fail.

To conclude I feel this first third of the movie is out of line with the other two thirds. It doesn’t really go onto say how religion really fits into the scheme of control. Everything else leads into other arguments where as religion is just set up as a pinata, they take a few swings at it blindfolded then move on.

Towards the end of the movie the narrator gets onto the topic of micro chipping the population of the earth for total control… might be helpful if they bothered to mention this piece of Bible scripture:

He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name. Revelation 13:16-17

It seems to me God was the first one to warn us about being marked and controlled. If you want the truth, go to the word of God. It’s the only place you’ll find it. Those that are working to bring about your distruction will lie to you. The one trying to save you will tell you the truth.

seen zeitgeist? listen to this…

Tuesday, October 6th, 2009

This week a couple people approached me about the documentary film Zeitgeist. It was the first time they had seen it and they were concerned about the material presented in the film. That movie was by far not new for me and I am quite well versed with the content contained within.

The movie is a three part documentary which covers aspects of religion, government, banking, war and the desire for totalitarian control by a group of elites that wish to rule the world. The primary concerns for these people surrounded the first third of the movie which, to put mildly, is an unbridled assault on Christianity. I’ve heard that this section of this movie has really challenged people and in some cases all-in-all destroyed their faith. If you have seen this movie and had your faith challenged or ruined… or your a person that has always been a non-believer and have looked to this film as final proof for your “soul” to be at peace your non-belief, you need the two audio links below.

They are two sermons that were delivered by Bruxy Cavey, lead pastor of The Meeting House Church. They are in response to the Zeitgeist movie and man-o-man, does he put that film in its place, at least the first third anyway. It’s a must listen, whether you’ve seen the film or not.

I really do recommend you watch the documentary…

Zeitgeist Movie
Part OnePart TwoPart Three

My opinion of the film
To focus on the first third of the film, my main question would be why does it only focus on Christianity? The film spends a third of it’s time working to discredit only one religion. If all religions are part of a system of control it would stand to reason that the film would need to inform us and discredit all organized religion. Buddha, Allah, Krishna and so on, not only Jesus and the Christian church.

What I think this film aims to do is to scare people and to kill hope. The last two thirds of the film focuses on the history of wars, government and banking painting a picture of lies, manipulation and deceit. It is all orchestrated into one motive - a one world government and totalitarianism at the hands of a small group that rule a micro chipped population of people. So to summarize the movie delivers a “you’re screwed” message.

Well, this isn’t true…

I am short of time at the moment so I have to call it a rap here. Please watch the films, listen to the sermons, leave some comments. I will expand upon this in my next post, I may re-watch the documentary and get in depth on the subject. Following that I want to finish the second half of a series I started a while back on the ten commandments. Bookmark this site, subscribe to the RSS feed… stay tuned… do your won research… message me… this will only get more interesting as we go.

meet david icke

David Icke is a very interesting person. I first heard of him in a documentary I watched maybe a year ago. There were some clips through out the video of him speaking and I found what he was saying quite compelling. So I researched the documentary and found out his name… ran a search on google and youtube and to my amazement I found tons of stuff. Books, lectures, videos… tons of content. I was surprised I had not heard of him before. I’ll let you get to know him through the video below which is only about 8 minutes long. He is speaking about what money actually is… he is a great speaker, always logical and builds in an easy to follow way.

It is worth me noting that he is not without contreversy in some circles for some of the topics he covers. He has spoken quite ill of organized religion in that he sews it into the systems of control as being corrupt and a lie to manipulate people. While I am sure some of that is true in some areas I think he misses the boat in a lot of others. I only mention this if you take the time to do some research on him because it could come across as though I support someone in opposition to my beliefs. The simple root of the matter is that the teachings of Jesus Christ defeats every single enemy or force that he speaks of as being against us. Anyway, I found that video interesting today and wanted to share it… what do you think?

new link added - free documentaries

Thursday, August 20th, 2009

I have added a new link in the websites section on the left side. It goes to www.freedocumentaries.org. There is some amazing stuff in there. I have watched a number of them and highly recommend:

The Century of Self
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4

Hacking Democracy
Part 1

American Black Out
Part 1

Merchants of Cool
Part 1

Please go there and take in some of them. Leave comments here to get some conversations going. There is a reason this stuff isn’t talked about in the mainstream media. The owners a rulers of this world do not want you thinking for yourself or knowing how things really work. Take sometime out from watching TV or even reading for that matter and check out some of these documentaries.

BUT… before you check any of these out or dismiss this post all together consider this. The word conspiracy evokes emotions of skepticism. There is a reason for that too. That is how thorough the media is. They make you doubt that anything other than what they tell you is true. It is my belief that only an insane person would support that kind of thinking. Of course we’re lied to. The “them” and the “they” will say and do anything to keep their hold on power and wealth. Its kind of funny thinking about in the light of a post I wrote a little while ago … maybe you should go back and read my post regarding not lying.

the georgia guidestones

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009

I can’t recall exactly how I came across these. I have known about the guide stones for a number of years now. I probably stumbled upon them as I bounced from site to site looking at various information. When I did come across these I stopped dead in my tracks. Why had I never heard about these before?

The Georgia Guidestones (American Stonehenge)

The Georgia Guidestones (American Stonehenge)

A brief overview of this monument:
Located in Elbert County Georgia in the United States, this series of stones weighs hundreds of tons. There are four vertical outer stones surrounding a center stone that all touch a square cap stone. On the faces of the the four outer stones are “ten commandments for the new age” (what the Sam Hill is the new age and when is that starting!?) engraved in the eight most common spoken languages of the world.

The stones were ordered in 1979 and the monument was standing by 1980. There is much secrecy around the origin of the stones as they can not be linked to a particular owner or group. A small distance from the main set is a flat stone in the ground that gives some general information about the set up and origins. The story is that the project was commissioned by a man named Robert C. Christian and he was backed by “A Small Group Of Americans Who Seek The Age Of Reason.” as indicated on the flat tablet by the stones.

The ten commandments of the new age

  1. Maintain humanity under 500,000,000 in perpetual balance with nature.
  2. Guide reproduction wisely - improving fitness and diversity.
  3. Unite humanity with a living new language.
  4. Rule passion - faith - tradition - and all things with tempered reason.
  5. Protect people and nations with fair laws and just courts.
  6. Let all nations rule internally resolving external disputes in a world court.
  7. Avoid petty laws and useless officials.
  8. Balance personal rights with social duties.
  9. Prize truth - beauty - love - seeking harmony with the infinite.
  10. Be not a cancer on the earth - Leave room for nature - Leave room for nature.

I won’t comment on all of these but lets take a look at the first one. Five hundred million people on the planet? While I can’t disagree that the planet and nature as a whole could benefit from a smaller population the obvious conflict is that there is nearly seven billion people alive now. Aside from the first one most of these seem fairly sensible… but the question has to be asked again. Where did these come from? Other questions would be why are they there and why doesn’t the public at large know of their existence? Again, ripping on the media (news, TV, magazines, radio and paper), they are rarely if ever discussed. Why? Maybe they’re old news. To me however, with what they imply (someday a vast majority of the earth’s population will be gone) they should be talked about often. Think about them, let me know what you think.
